Bernardo Martinez
Nacido en la ciudad de los Ángeles, Chile 1981.
Licenciado en Artes Plásticas con mención en grabado. Profesor de Artes Visuales en International Baccalaureate.
Acerca de su obra, “Existen elementos del paisaje que desde lo técnico llaman mi atención. Son esos elementos a los que como pintor principiante tememos, pero que luego, con paso del tiempo benefician la obra. Es así como el humo, el agua, y otros componentes no sólidos, proponen una espaciosidad y dinámica en la obra, que acentúan ciertos afanes expresivos de esta.”
Dentro de sus características como artista se percibe la combinación entre grabado y pintura. Últimamente está desarrollando trabajos de xilografía y óleo, en donde hace la relación del agua con el andar errático del hombre contemporáneo con referencia a “El Salvarse” ya que este implica un concepto de supervivencia más que de tranquilidad, como la sensación de no tocar el fondo al sumergirse en el agua.
Por otra parte, para Bernardo es relevante el desarrollo de una propuesta intencionada y el desarrollo del trabajo en series temáticas, es en ese proceso en donde él se proyecta en diversas técnicas que le permiten desenvolver su discurso como artista.

It is those elements that we fear as a beginner painter, but that later, with the experience, they benefit the work. This is how smoke, water, and other non-solid components propose a spatiality and dynamics in the work, which accentuate certain expressive eagerness of the final result”.
Within his characteristics as an artist, it is perceived the combination between engraving and painting. Lately he is developing works of woodcut and oil, where he makes the relationship of water with the erratic gait of contemporary man with reference to “El Salvarse (save yourself)"; since this implies a concept of survival rather than tranquillity, as the feeling of not touching the bottom when submerged in water.
Otherwise, for Bernardo the development of an intentional proposal and the evolution of the work in thematic series is relevant, it is in this process where he projects himself in diverse techniques that allow him to materialize his discourse as an artist.
